In Kansas City Magazine

Online publication Lonely Planet recently listed Kansas City as a top travel destination for 2024 not just in the US, but in the world!

  • Top 10: Lonely Planet recently released its top 10 travel locations and listed KC as one of only two US locations. Other international cities made the list such as Paris, Prague, and Nairobi.

  • Curious How We Made The List?: We were skeptical ourselves, but Kansas City has so much going for it. With the building of the CPKC Stadium, the new international airport, elite museums such as the WWI Museum, and KC staples like Jazz and BBQ, there’s a lot to offer in this Midwest City.

  • Ballin’ On A Budget: Beyond simply making the list, several cities were awarded sub-categories as well. Kansas City was listed as the best city to visit in 2024 on a budget. Cool and thrifty.

Hunt Midwest

Google has filed its first official plan for adding a new data center in North Kansas City.

  • It’s Happening: After beginning its evaluation of Kansas City as a possible location for the data center, Google has filed initial plans to add a potential multi-billion dollar facility in the Hunt Midwest Business Center.

  • A Full Plan: The plan encompasses four data centers and several other buildings that would create over 1 million square feet of construction space spread out over 315 acres.

  • Not Waiting Around: In August, developers submitted an $8.5M proposal for grading and adding sewage to the property. According to JE Dunn representatives, development could start as soon as this year.

Google is looking to develop several other data centers across the country in places like Texas, Nebraska, and Arizona. Elsewhere in KC, Facebook’s parent company Meta is also developing land.

With two beers currently being brewed, Kansas City’s first Hispanic brewing company has arrived.

  • Latinx Brews: Rizoma Liquid Creations is Kansas City’s first Hispanic brewing company. Co-founders Damon Arredondo and Edwing Mendez are bringing a taste of Latinism to the industry with their Latin American Ales.

  • Cerveza: Rizoma currently is brewing two Latin American Ales, the El Sol, a refreshing and light beer, and La Luna, a well-balanced and medium-bodied Amber Ale.

  • Searching For A Fit: For now, Rizoma is searching for a contract brewery to serve its beers locally. It’s also currently looking for investors as they look to acquire their own brewery and taproom.
